Island Voice Hosts ‘African Art Pop Up Shop’
This past Sunday, Bobby Digi ( Executive Director, Island Voice ) hosted an African Art Show in Stapleton, Staten Island in efforts to raise awareness and funds for the recent Ebola outbreak. The art gallery featured a variety of vintage African paintings, sculptures, and other crafts that were on sale.
The art show was then followed by a concert entitled: “Grand Musical War Against Ebola,” which featured performances by Liberian gospel artists at the Christ Assembly Lutheran Church. Profits from the art show and donations from the concert were donated the SILCA Ebola Fund in efforts to raise money for more advanced medical facilities to treat Ebola patients in West Africa.
